Who are we?
Don’t know us yet? Then check out our marvelous journey here!
We are a group of passionate Armathians from 3 different regions who came together in January 2025 to make the impossible possible: Armenia’s first participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition. In spite of the limited time, few resources, and other challenges, we secured 4th place out of 53 in the regional and won the Rookie All-Star Award in the regional and at the Championship (final stage).
From the very beginning, we set clear goals when paving Armenia’s way to the FRC:
Dear donors, thanks to your support, we were able to make it happen. Now, we are happy to share that we have reached the next stage of our goals, and we are putting every effort into making this an annual tradition. The expertise we gained showed us that we possess the creativity, knowledge, and skills to design and drive excellent robots. The main challenge, however, is funding. Many teams are backed by powerful sponsors who cover their travel expenses, materials, and equipment. If we had even half of that support, we could invest in our knowledge and leave an even more remarkable impression in the competition.
Join us and become the strong foundation we rely on as we prepare for this year’s competition.
Watch us here.
What is FRC?
The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is a global event where high school teams compete with their robots in challenging matches, combining the excitement of sports with science and technology. FRC offers valuable prospects for students, making it a worthwhile experience for Armenia to join.
This year’s challenge has a desert theme, and we are eagerly waiting for more details and the official game manual, which will be released on January 10.
What have we done so far?
After winning the Rookie All-Star Award at the Championship held in Houston, we didn’t sit idle—we immediately took our next steps. We have already shared our story and introduced the competition at a donor meeting, the UATE meeting, TechnoCamp, and in numerous discussions, answering countless questions. It was especially rewarding to see the excitement in the faces of many young Armathians who were eager to learn more and dreamed of becoming the next participants.
Currently, we're assisting a newly formed team preparing for the FIRST Global Challenge, another international robotics competition organized by the same foundation. We provide guidance, share resources, and motivate them to persevere and advance.
Additionally, we've applied for a grant from the Gene Haas Foundation and Rev Robotics the primary sponsor of FIRST. We are waiting for updates, and winning this grant would have a significant impact on our budget
Moreover, this time we are working smarter: we have launched our fundraising campaign to secure the necessary resources to build a powerful robot and to cover travel expenses.
Why is this important?
Armenia has participated in similar competitions only once or twice, with long gaps of about 7 years between events. During these gaps, Armenian students fall behind, facing outdated equipment, limited resources, and the challenge of learning new procedures and formats from scratch. Continuous participation would prevent this and bring many lasting benefits.
So, to cut the long story short, what’s our nearest goal?
Armenia has much to show on international stage. With your support, we can turn this vision into reality.
