3 years agoYoung people living in Syunik don’t have the same opportunities to acquire new and modern professions as their peers in Yerevan and nearby communities. Many young people want to stay in their communities but have to leave the region to get modern education and find proper job opportunities in Yerevan.
You can change the situation by supporting the educational project “Wings to Syunik Youth” developed by "ARK" ecological NGO․
Your support will give 16 young people living in Tsav, Tatev, Svarants, and Kapan communities in Syunik the opportunity to get a new and in-demand profession of a drone pilot, work remotely, and contribute to the development of communities in Syunik.
4 young people from Syunik will participate in professional training as drone pilots.
Each of them will share the professional knowledge and skills they have acquired with 3 more young people. At the end of the project, 16 young people will master the profession of a drone pilot and each of them will present a video shot by a drone in Syunik as a graduation project.
After graduation, the young people will form teams and accept orders for drone filming in the Syunik area.
Within the framework of the "Wings to Syuniq youth" project, we plan to purchase 5 video recording drones, 4 of which will be given to the first 4 participants after the end of the project as a reward for the time invested, great responsibility, and desire to learn.
The fifth drone will be given to the "ARK" NGO which, through its long-term experience and collaboration with other international organizations, will contribute to the development of tourism in Syunik.
The “ARK” NGO implements the project, which aims to create alternative-to-mining jobs for young people living in Syunik.
The NGO “ARK” has been working in Syunik for 7 years and has 13 local and international partners.
There is a significant demand for drone pilots in Syunik. “ARK'' NGO has come to this conclusion through the activity of creating video clips promoting ecotourism.

P.S. Having drone operators is important in border communities.
See the project budget here.
Meet Sona, who is one of our first participants and will soon be sharing her drone camera control skills with her peers.
And very soon you will see Sona's video from Baghaberd.
Well, with your contribution, you can give new young people the opportunity to learn this modern and important specialization.
Dear supporters,
We present the report of the works done until March 27.
Thank you once again for supporting the project.
We are happy to share with you that the drone-camera control training is going well.
The young people included in the program show enthusiasm and commitment.
We see the participants' continued growth and development and are confident that they will achieve great success with the skills they have acquired.
We are happy to share that the participants of our program have made their first filming with a drone camera.
Here are some great photos from the city of Kapan, which were taken by the participants of the program.
Did you know that before flying a drone it is important to learn how to use a drone simulator first? Not only does this help you develop the skills you need to safely fly a drone, it also gives you the opportunity to test different scenarios and environments without the risk of damaging your actual drone.
This is how the participants of our project also do.
Our beneficiaries Samvel and Sona are learning how to operate a drone correctly.
Our campaign is ongoing and we still need money to buy new drone cameras.
Although our campaign is still ongoing, we have already acquired the first drone camera and started our project.
Thanks to all those who believed in us and donated to the project.
Dear donors, the campaign period has been extended until January 30.
Thank you for supporting us.
We have good news.
Excelist training center, joining reArmenia's "Corporate Philanthropy" program, will donate its entire New Year's budget to the "Wings to the Youth of Syunik" initiative.
The company is also willing to donate 5% of its profits each month to the program until the entire amount is collected.
Thank you for staying with us.
Dear supporters,
We are pleased to present the last report of the "Wings for Syunik's Youth" project.
Thanks to your support, another young person from Kapan has successfully completed training as a drone operator, and created a video showcasing the city of Kapan.
We sincerely appreciate your support for the project.
Young people living in Syunik do not have the same opportunities to acquire new and modern professions as their peers in Yerevan and the surrounding communities. Many of the young people want to stay in their communities, but are forced to leave the settlement in order to get modern education and find suitable jobs in Yerevan.
Thanks to this program, we aimed to give drone operator specialization to 16 young people living in Syunik, as well as to teach them how to create video clips from Kapan and Tatev communities.
Initially, it was planned to collect about 3.5 million drams, which were supposed to cover the following costs:
The program was to be implemented in two phases: in the first phase, 4 instructors were to be educated, who in turn were to teach 3 young people each from their communities.
During the fundraising, we managed to collect 781320, as a result of which we decided to change our strategy, having to change the number of beneficiaries as well. Since the money was not enough for both the purchase of drone cameras and the organization of courses, we decided to go the way of self-training of instructors. ARK environmental NGO created a training program so that two instructors Arsen Sargsyan and Mihran Hovhanisyan learn to control the drone camera and then teach 6 more young people. The training of instructors lasted about 3 months. They completely mastered the course and became skilled drone camera operators. From May to September 2023, our instructors taught 6 more young people to control a drone camera, shoot and create videos.
We attach 8 videos created by our instructors and their students to our report.
During the project, 3 drone cameras were purchased, according to the initial plan, the two drone cameras were to remain with the instructors. The 3rd camera belongs to the environmental NGO ARK and trained youth use the drone camera when needed.
It is also a pleasure to note a few facts related to our program.
Instructors actively use drone-cameras, including earning money through them.
We also know that the young people who have studied with us already outside the program continue to teach their friends how to control and shoot the drone camera.
We are very grateful to the participants of the fundraiser. We would like to note that all the young people were excited and are still excited about this program. Most of them expressed their desire to buy drone cameras if possible, besides, the program has greatly activated the interest of young people to drone cameras. We see people in our communities looking into these topics, excited by drone footage.
