Due to the loss of Artsakh and the forced displacement of the population, Tigran Lalayan who is one of the cultural figures from Artsakh, also took refuge in Armenia. The jazz band he created and led was loved and recognized outside Artsakh, being a participant in many music projects and international festivals.

Faithful to his professed values ​​and not giving up in the face of the existing difficulties, he founded a new "Artsakh" jazz orchestra in Armenia with the involvement of individuals who are the core of the orchestra created in Artsakh in 2004, as well as musicians of the new generation, which, with its rich repertoire of classical and ethno jazz, in a short period of time managed to perform on Armenian stages and was highly rated by demanding professionals.

The band has always been and still is with such grateful people of Armenian pop and jazz music art as composer, National Artist of Armenia, maestro Martin Vardazaryan, famous composer, National Artist of Armenia, Maestro Melik Mavisakalian, composer, Honored Art Worker of Armenia Vardan Achemyan, gifted singer Artur Ispiryan and distinguished figures of the pop and jazz spheres.

IMPACT

As a result of the orchestra's activity, its recognizability and geography of activity will be expanded in favor of the preservation and popularization of Armenian pop and jazz traditions and in support of the cultural and social initiative of our compatriots forcibly displaced from Artsakh. The financing of the orchestra will not only ensure the continuity of the creative activities of Artsakh cultural figures, but also exclude the possibility of emigration due to social conditions, creating the necessary conditions for them to live and create in Mother Armenia.

PROBLEM

Among the most important issues to be solved as a result of financial support to the orchestra in the initial period, and self-sufficient operation of the orchestra in the short term are:

1. Preservation and popularization of the best traditions of one of the unique institutions of Artsakh culture,

2. The creation of paid (at least minimum wage) work opportunities for Artsakh citizens who have suffered moral and material damage due to the loss of Artsakh.

3. The opportunity to engage in professional (cultural) activities and most importantly, the hope of returning to Artsakh is kept alive.

SOLUTION

The goal of the program is to provide the orchestra with minimal financial resources during this difficult phase. Financial support is planned for one year, which is a necessary period of time for the orchestra to stand up and be able to independently continue life activities in the new situation.

1. Question - How many musical projects and international festivals has the core of the orchestra participated in since the development of cultural activities?

Answer - The orchestra has participated in more than 80 musical projects and about a dozen international festivals held in Armenia and abroad, the information about which is summarized in the following documentary film about the orchestra's activities.

2. Question - What activities did the orchestra carry out in 2024, what musical projects and festivals did it participate in?

Answer - On April 10, 2024, the orchestra performed a large-scale solo concert in the hall of the State Puppet Theater named after H. Tumanyan in Yerevan, in the presence of invited special guests, and on April 30, it participated in the festival dedicated to the International Jazz Day in Yerevan's Cascade Gafeschyan Park, presenting Armenian and about a dozen famous works of world jazz, and on June 8-9 he participated in the Yerevan Wine Fest festival. At the same time, it performed another solo concert at the music booth of the Public Radio of Armenia, and in the near future, along with solving financial problems, the orchestra will participate in musical projects organized not only in Yerevan, but also in the regions of Armenia.
