The aim of the project: The Guest Rooms in Near-Border Communities project aims to increase the influx of tourists to the distant communities of the Syunik, Tavush, Vayots Dzor or Gegharkunik regions for entertainment, work, research, investment and other purposes as well as to improve the quality of life in those communities by creating guest rooms in 1-2 houses of the residents of that community.
Project justification: The 44-day war directly affected some communities located on the border of Armenia and Artsakh. Distant communities located on the border of the Syunik and Gegharkunik regions were among those that suffered most, losing a significant part of their natural resources of agricultural importance (pastures, orchards, etc.) that provided economic stability and contributed to the social development of the communities.
Expected support: Support that we expect to get for the implementation of the proposed project includes consultations with the experts in the business, tourism, marketing spheres, skills-based development trainings for the host families, design of logo and branding of the business as well as in-kind donations of construction materials.
