Umbrella X Lab is a technology and engineering educational-production laboratory founded by DX Group, whose mission is to provide young people with a practical platform to learndesign, and create Armenian technological products.

Within the initiative, around 15 million AMD has already been invested, and a production infrastructure has been established — equipped with 3D printers, laser machines, and modern computing equipment.

Practical education is currently being implemented in Gyumri, in cooperation with GTC Co-Creation Lab, where around 20 students are already engaged in hands-on projects.

This fundraiser aims to expand the lab’s capabilities — by acquiring new equipment, involving engineer-mentors, and creating an incubator-style educational environment where students will develop prototypes in roboticsdrones, and IoT devices, with the goal of not only learning, but also developing local production and innovation on a regional level.

Your support will become an investment in shaping Armenian technology and the future of regional education.

IMPACT

The expansion of Umbrella X Lab will allow the involvement of at least 30 students annually from Gyumri and neighboring communities to develop practical skills in the fields of technology and engineering.

The project will create an education → production → market chain, where students will not only learn but also build real devices — robotsdronessmart systems. These devices will be used as prototypes for local production, and the best projects will be developed with export potential, bringing Armenian products to the global technology market.

As a result:

Students from technological colleges and universities will gain real practical experience,

Innovative Armenian devices will enter the market,

A technological culture will form in the region,

Young people will stay in Armenia — with the opportunity to learncreate, and work.

In the previous stage, results have already been achieved:

Around 15 million AMD invested,

Lab base created,

20 students already involved in the programs.

In the next phase, we will expand this impact by creating a sustainable platform that combines educationinnovation, and local production.

PROBLEM

In Armenia, and especially in Gyumri, hundreds of young people have technological interest and potential, but lack stable platforms for practical education, creation, and testing.

At the moment, Umbrella X Lab’s production infrastructure is located in Yerevan, while student engagement has already started in Gyumri — in cooperation with GTC Co-Creation Lab. About 20 students are currently undergoing a pilot program, but the lack of technical and methodological resources hinders full development and continuity of this process.

If we don’t provide the necessary support now:

We will lose the momentum of the movement,

Students will become disappointed and stop participating,

Ideas and creative potential will remain incomplete.

Moreover, Armenia’s tech-manufacturing sector remains dependent on imports, and projects developing at the regional level are lacking. In a city like Gyumri, supporting such an initiative in time means choosing between development on the spot or emigration — a decisive difference.

SOLUTION

Umbrella X Lab was created precisely to solve this problem.

We are forming an environment where students not only gain theoretical knowledge, but also work on engineering devices, collaborate with experienced professionals, and become active participants in local technological production.

How we will solve it

With the help of this campaign, we will implement a four-phase program through which we will strengthen Gyumri’s lab infrastructure and expand student involvement.

IMPLEMENTATION PHASES

  • Preparation
  • Selection and grouping of students — from Gyumri colleges and universities
  • Involvement of specialists — local and Yerevan-based engineer-mentors
  • Procurement planning and supplier selection
  • Procurement of materials and equipment
  • Modern equipment — Arduino kits, sensors, motors, breadboards, batteries
  • Supporting materials — 3D printing plastic, communication modules, testing components
  • Training and designing
  • Group hands-on workshops — on a weekly basis
  • Project work — robots, drones, IoT systems
  • Mentorship, testing, and modeling
  • Production and public outreach
  • Assembly of prototypes — ready-to-function models
  • Small exhibition — for the community and partners
  • Publication of photos, results, and stories

METHODOLOGY

Our approach combines three key components:

Practical training,

Production,

Entrepreneurial thinking.

Students participate in the full project cycle — from idea to prototype, which ensures in-depth learning and the ability to create independently.

TEAM

The Umbrella X Lab project is led by Davit Yuzbashyan, founder and CEO of DX Group Ltd., who has experience in managing technology programs, designing educational projects, and business mentorship.

The project has brought together four experienced engineers, specialized in mechatronicsrobotics, and programming. The main team works in the Yerevan workshop, while a two-member team provides technical support in Gyumri.

We have already formed partnerships — with the Gyumri Technology Center, educational institutions, and several large companies — involving around 20 students in hands-on projects.

To expand the project, we plan to involve 2–3 engineer-mentors who will work with students in Gyumri, providing mentorship, training, and project management.

🤝 Our team is committed not only to knowledge transfer but also to rooting technological culture in the regions. Our efforts aim to make this laboratory a long-term, stable, and impactful platform for youth.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why invest specifically in Umbrella X Lab?

Umbrella X Lab is already a functioning initiative — with 15 million AMD of pre-invested resources, 20 studentsengaged in practical projects, and a ready team. Your support is not going toward an idea but toward expanding a concrete, active program whose results are already visible.

What guarantees that the program will be implemented as promised?

DX Group, as an operating company, has transparent management mechanisms, a clear phased plan, and public accountability. We also regularly publicize results — in the form of photos, videos, and stories.

What will happen to the lab after the fundraiser?

The project is developed as a long-term model. The training and production will continue with student teams, internal income, and new programs. This fundraiser is an opportunity to ensure initial flexibility, not a one-time action.

Can I track the results?

Yes. We will regularly share progress updates through the reArmenia platform and on the Umbrella X Lab Facebook page. All donors will receive updates and can personally follow the progress of the program.

Is this just an educational project?

No. This is a model that combines education, production, and entrepreneurship. Students not only learn but also create prototypes with market application, contributing to the development of local production and the creation of jobs in the region.

Join this technological movement. Support us in standing with the future generation of engineers. Together we can change not just one city, but the entire perception of technology in Armenia.
