Your support will help launch the Umbrella X Engineering Lab in Gyumri city. As a token of appreciation, your name will be featured on the "X Wall" inside the lab and on our website — recognizing everyone who made this initiative possible.

Umbrella X Lab is a technological and engineering educational-production laboratory founded by DX Group LLC. Its mission is to provide young people with a practical environment for learning, designing, and creating Armenian technological products. Our vision is to build a regional value chain of education → production → innovation, where students gain not only theoretical knowledge but also real creative and engineering experience. The first stage of practical training was implemented in Gyumri in cooperation with GTC Co-Creation Lab, within which around 20 students are already involved in hands-on projects.

The goal of this fundraising campaign is to expand the laboratory’s capacity by acquiring modern equipment, engaging engineering mentors, and creating an incubation-based educational environment. Within this environment, students will develop prototypes in the fields of robotics, drones, and IoT devices, as well as study and apply Web3 solutions—not only for educational purposes, but also to stimulate local production and regional innovation.

Your support is an investment in the development of Armenian technologies and the future of regional education.

IMPACT

The expansion of Umbrella X Lab will allow us to engage at least 30 students annually from Gyumri and nearby communities, helping them develop practical skills in technology and engineering.

The project will create a complete education → production → market pipeline, where students not only learn, but also build real devices—robots, drones—and explore Web3 technologies. These devices will serve as prototypes for local production, while the most promising projects will gain potential for further development and export, bringing Armenian technological products to the global market.

As a result:

  • students from technical colleges and universities will gain real hands-on experience,
  • innovative Armenian devices will enter the market,
  • a regional technological culture will be formed,
  • young people will remain in Armenia, gaining opportunities to learn, create, and work locally.

Results already achieved in the previous stage:

  • validation of the educational model,
  • establishment of a laboratory base,
  • practical collaborations with international companies,
  • involvement of 20 students in active programs.

At the next stage, we will strengthen this impact by creating a sustainable platform that integrates education, innovation, and local production.

PROBLEM

In Armenia—and especially in Gyumri—hundreds of young people possess technological interest and potential, yet there are no sustainable platforms for hands-on learning, creation, and testing.

A practical engagement model was already piloted in Gyumri in cooperation with GTC Co-Creation Lab, involving around 20 students. However, the lack of technical and methodological resources prevents the process from becoming fully developed and sustainable.

Without timely support:

  • the momentum of development will be lost,
  • students will become discouraged and drop out,
  • ideas and creative potential will remain unrealized.

Additionally, Armenia’s technological manufacturing sector remains highly dependent on imports, while regional development projects are extremely limited. Supporting an initiative like this in a city such as Gyumri helps prevent a critical choice between local development and emigration.

SOLUTION

Umbrella X Lab was created specifically to address this challenge. We are building an environment where students not only receive theoretical knowledge, but also work on real engineering devices, collaborate with experienced specialists, and become active participants in local technological production.

How we will solve it

With the support of this campaign, we will implement a four-stage program to strengthen laboratory infrastructure in Gyumri and expand student engagement.

IMPLEMENTATION PHASES

1. Preparation

  • Selection and formation of student groups from colleges and universities in Gyumri
  • Engagement of local, international, and Yerevan-based engineering mentors
  • Procurement planning and supplier selection

2. Procurement of Materials and Equipment

  • Modern equipment: Arduino kits, sensors, motors, breadboards, batteries
  • Supporting materials: 3D printing plastics, communication modules, testing components

3. Training and Design

  • Regular weekly hands-on group sessions
  • Project-based work: robots, drones, IoT systems, Web3 technologies
  • Mentorship, testing, and modeling

4. Production and Public Presentation

  • Assembly of working prototype models
  • Small-scale demonstrations for the community and partners
  • Publication of photos, results, and project stories

METHODOLOGY

Our approach integrates three core components:

  • hands-on learning,
  • production,
  • entrepreneurial thinking.

Students participate in the entire development cycle—from idea to prototype—ensuring deep learning and the development of independent creative and engineering thinking.

TEAM

The Umbrella X Lab project is led by David Yuzbashyan, Founder and CEO of DX Group Ltd., with experience in managing technological projects, developing educational programs, and providing business mentorship.

The project brings together experienced engineers specializing in mechatronics, robotics, Web3 technologies, and software development.

Partnerships have already been established with the Gyumri Technology Center, educational institutions, and several major companies, within which around 20 students are actively involved in practical projects.

Hands-on sessions in Gyumri will also be conducted with the participation of an engineer with over 14 years of international professional experience, who has worked on complex engineering and technological projects.

As part of the expansion, we plan to engage 2–3 additional engineering mentors who will work directly with students in Gyumri, providing mentorship, training, and project management.

🤝 Our team is committed not only to knowledge transfer, but also to building a regional technological culture. Our goal is to ensure that the engineering laboratory becomes a long-term, sustainable, and impactful platform for young people.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why invest in Umbrella X Lab?

Umbrella X Lab is a proven initiative with 20 students already engaged in practical projects and an established team. Your support is directed not toward an idea, but toward scaling an already functioning program with visible results.

What guarantees the project’s implementation?

DX Group, as an operating company, ensures transparent management, a clear phased plan, and public accountability. We regularly publish photo, video, and written reports on progress.

What happens after the fundraising ends?

The project is designed as a long-term model. Training and production will continue through internal revenues and new programs. This fundraising provides initial flexibility, not a one-time action.

Can results be tracked?

Yes. We will regularly share progress through the reArmenia platform and on the Umbrella X Lab Facebook page. All donors will receive updates and be able to follow the project’s development.

Is this purely an educational project?

No. It is a model that integrates education, production, and entrepreneurship. Students not only learn, but also create prototypes with market potential, contributing to local production and job creation in the region.
