Hello, I’m Milena, a 17-year-old girl from Armenia. From an early age, I excelled in middle school and high school. However, my journey extends far beyond textbooks and classrooms.

Academic Journey and University choice

Beyond academics, I am an active individual in my community’s life. My interest in technology increased when I became a student at the Tumo Center for Creative Technologies, eventually, I decided to continue studying computer science at university.

Finally, my choice was to study at the University of York, European campus, which is located in Greece. Although the university provided a full tuition scholarship for the three years of my undergraduate studies, one of the main obstacles remains to be overcome: the living costs.

Financial Support and Impact

It is important to note that the scholarship does not cover the costs of textbooks, accommodation, visas or travel expenses, for which I am asking your support. Investing in my education will not only benefit me, but also contribute to the progress of Armenian society. The support of each of you will enable me to obtain a higher education while expanding my knowledge to return to Armenia and contribute to the country's development.

In every circumstance, my Armenian background is a strength that allows me to highlight the depth of our culture. I strive to show the world a piece of Armenians and Armenia, my piece of it.

My university

The University of York is a member of the prestigious Russell Group, which includes 24 of the UK's best universities, known for their rigorous academic and research standards.

For the next three years, I will be studying at the university's European campus. Along with my acceptance, I was awarded a full scholarship covering the full fees for my 3 years of study, totaling around €23,400. Still, as mentioned it covers only the tuition fees.

My role in the community

As an active teenager, I have been involved in social life starting from thirteen. 

I have been an active student/participant/volunteer in: սաTurn NGO, Enlight NGO, EducationUSA Competitive College Club, TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, Summer School-Yerevan State University, The New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS) - The Junior Academy, STEMGeneration Education Camp-American University of Armenia, Teach for Armenia, Federation of Youth Clubs of Armenia(FYCA), IT Community Armenia, Equal Opportunities Civic Initiative NGO, etc.
