6 days agoThe 10-month blockade and the subsequent forced displacement have exposed our compatriots to severe socio-psychological challenges, necessitating long-term professional support. Psychologists, social workers, therapists, and other specialists will collaborate with our compatriots.
The problems people face are quite diverse. By organizing initiatives based on the foundation of essential needs and enhancing social participation, we aim to empower the displaced individuals and steer them towards reintegration.
This is an opportunity to break free from dependency on humanitarian aid and beneficiaries.
Since the displaced population is spread not only within the administrative center of the community but also across different rural settlements, people encounter challenges in accessing services. Our strategy involves experts visiting these communities directly and meeting with individuals and families.
In one year, a center will be able to assist 2,500 displaced individuals. Experienced specialists will provide assistance to our compatriots, both from the Republic of Armenia and those forcibly displaced from Artsakh.
See the full budget breakdown here.
The Armenian Association of Social Workers is a professional structure which unites social workers and combines the existing scientific and practical potential in the field. AASW considers its priority task to promote the formation of a welfare state in Armenia through the development of professional social services. Within the framework of its activity, the organization always strives to preserve and disseminate professional principles and universal values.
The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW) has a commendable track record in supporting the community, particularly in the aftermath of the 2020 war. AASW has established psychosocial centers in Artsakh, specifically in Martuni and Martakert - Artsakh Psychosocial Support Centre․
The centers in Artsakh supported over 20,000 individuals including children who were dropped out of education, vulnerable families who were internally displaced, conflicting families due to the loss of job placement and afterwar consequences, families with losses and others.
We would like to replicate and ‘reopen’ these support centres in the communities in which the displaced Artsakh population now reside.
🇦🇲 Dear donors,
The process of full integration of our compatriots from Artsakh is moving forward intensively.

In these centers, where funding for the first 2 phases has been secured, it is already underway:
🔸 team involvement and ongoing training,
🔸 assessment of the needs of the people of Artsakh,
🔸 provision of psychological support,
🔸 satisfaction of primary needs.
Thank you for being with us on this important journey. 💙
