The basilica-type church of Kirants (Kunen) of Tavush marz, mentioned since the fourth century, was built in 1888. Unfortunately, it is in poor condition today and in danger of collapsing.

The church functioned until the mid-1930s. Then a decision was made to completely demolish the church building, but Abgar Nazaryan, the head of the village at that time, was convinced to preserve the building and turn it into a grain warehouse.

We have already found the solution to renovate the Holy Trinity Church. Mother See architects Mary Danielyan and Mariam Movsesyan worked on the restoration project. The project was approved by the Council of Architects of the Ministry of ESCS. A contract was signed with a professional construction company with experience in church restoration. Repair work has started. It was initiated by "Surb Abgar Nakhavka" Development Charitable Foundation.

Let's contribute and support the realization of Abgar's dream with united forces. Implementation of this initiative is possible only with united efforts.

The most important thing is that the church is a unique structure in its style and its restoration is important not only for the community, but for the Armenian people. Moreover, a number of creative and sports groups for children and youth will operate next to the church, which is of great importance for the life of the village and neighboring villages.

This church is of great importance for border guard Kirants, for soldiers standing on the border.

The leader of the Diocese of Tavush, Archbishop Ter Bagrat Galstanyan, deacon Tovmas Arakelyan, head of Kirants village Kamo Shahinyan, deputy of the National Assembly Garnik Danielyan, architect Mary Danielyan, Mariam Movsesyan joined the implementation of the project.

The repair works are carried out by a special and high-quality construction team, which is guided exclusively by the project made in the Mother See. Moreover, the construction works are supervised by professionals.
