Is it possible to build a technoschool in accordance with international standards in the remote Haghorti village in Artsakh?
Yes! It becomes possible when the Armenians unite.
The biggest fundraiser succeeded! Thanks to the reArmenia platform many individuals and organizations have united and raised the necessary funds for the "MOONQ" TechnoSchool in Artsakh" project (more than $144,000).
Very soon the children and youth in Artsakh will get technology education in accordance with international standards in various fields: Programming, Robotics, Design, Marketing, etc.
Armenian Code Academy has joined the project to ensure quality education and teach the most popular programming languages,
AGBU Armenian Virtual College offers AI programs,
a number of industry leaders have joined the TechnoSchool and organized birthday challenge asking their friends to donate to the project instead of presenting gifts,
a number of organizations have joined the project providing large-scale financial support (Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, Mantashov, Club Capital, Service Titan, Artsakhenergo),
The Armenian State University of Economics has provided financial and academic support,
the Haghorti village head Nver Martirosyan has provided the only municipality building to the TechnoSchool,
the Artsakh Ministry of Education and Science has doubled the first $30,000 raised.
Ashot and his fiancé Luiza have moved to the Mushkapat village in Artsakh in 2020. In order to prevent migration from the region, together they have decided to establish a TechnoSchool where young people will get new knowledge and become IT professionals.
They have established the "I" Educational Foundation and started to travel around the Artsakh communities by holding classes in the mobile laboratories. The team has been growing, as well as the number of young people interested in IT who did not want to leave Artsakh, and dreamed of getting an international-level technology education.
to establish a TechnoSchool in one of the villages in Artsakh, and guarantee free tech education to children and youth,
to equip the school,
to form a team of IT professionals,
to buy a minibus that will be used to transport the TechnoSchool students from different communities.
The idea of building a TechnoSchool brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to Haghorti. The villagers have indicated their willingness to participate in the construction and renovation works, and those who currently live abroad support the project by donating.
At first it seemed that the idea was impossible to implement. However, after the project launch hundreds of Armenians united to bring a better future to the children and youth in Artsakh. And today the construction works have started.
The entire Haghorti village went into a happy festive mood once the necessary funds for the TechnoSchool were raised.Adults and children, residents of neighboring communities, media, organizations and the reArmenia team gathered to celebrate the great victory.
Please, watch this short video taken that day.
P. S. A contemporary writer Lil Arami has been inspired by the MOONQ TechnoSchool project and spent a week in the Haghorti village. She has created a "Reporting from Haghorti'' video series and posted on her Facebook page.
Initially the TechnoSchool building served as a maternity hospital in the Haghorti village.
Later it became a kindergarten and an educational center for the rural children.
And when the MOONQ TechnoSchool students have founded their IT company called Start Systems, the head of the Haghorti village Nver Martirosyan has provided the administration building to them and moved his office to the current TechnoSchool building that temporarily serves as the Haghorti village administration.
By the way, it is the second time Nver Martirosyan is moving his workplace, so that the children of Haghorti and the neighboring communities have the most comfortable building.
Today the TechnoSchool renovation works have already started.
You are always welcome to visit the Haghorti village. The TechnoSchool students, the Haghorti village head and all the villagers will be happy to show you the TechnoSchool, the sights of Haghorti, and introduce their cuisine and everyday life.
And you can spend the night at Mrs. Silva’s guest house, where winters are warm and summers are cool. She also offers delicious Artsakh food.
And of course, do never forget that thanks to our unity the dream of hundreds of children in Artsakh will become true.
Today the project creators are inspired by the MOONQ TechnoSchool project success and are initiating a new project on the reArmenia platform to implement the TechnoSchool building external design with street art and graffiti.
