The TUN Foundation project aims to create a safe and stable environment for families forcibly displaced from Artsakh by providing land plots for building their own homes and developing agriculture.

We not only help families find a home and work but also lay the foundation for strong, prosperous communities where children can grow up in safe conditions, receive education, and build their future.

IMPACT

We provide families with resources for a stable life and work, which will form the foundation for a strong and prosperous community. The well-being and development today, as well as the foundation for future generations, as children can grow up and study peacefully, including having access to metropolitan educational institutions.

Project Results:

•      11 land plots for 10 families

•      1 additional plot needed for general infrastructure: pedestrian paths and access roads

•      Infrastructure development: water, gas, electricity to ensure residential suitability

•      Official transfer of plots to families with long-term obligations

PROBLEM

Since the escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, especially after the events of 2020 and 2023, thousands of ethnic Armenians from Artsakh have been forced to leave their homes. Families have lost not only their homes but also their way of life, facing numerous challenges in rebuilding their lives in Armenia.

The lack of permanent housing and the inability to continue agricultural activities deprive them of sources of income, stability, and hope for the future. Despite the support of the Armenian government and various non-profit organizations, the need for safe and permanent homes and stable employment remains unmet.

SOLUTION

The TUN Foundation provides free land plots for displaced families from Artsakh, suitable for housing construction and with the possibility of working in an agricultural cooperative. The land is provided with all necessary infrastructure, including water, electricity, and gas, so that families can quickly build homes and start cultivating the land.

We also collaborate with partners like the Agronet Foundation, which builds greenhouses in the nearby area and offers families the option to purchase them with an interest-free loan. The greenhouses will be included in a single cooperative and involved in the global economy.

Location:

•      Land plots are located 20 km from the capital of Armenia — Yerevan

•      Nearby are more than 150 schools and over 40 hospitals

•      Numerous employment opportunities for family members who will not be involved in agriculture

•      Within a radius of 5-10 km, there are more than 10 district schools

FAQ

What support do families receive besides land?

•      Opportunity to build greenhouses through partner Agronet with an interest-free loan.

•      Inclusion in an agricultural cooperative, which opens access to the global market.

•      Creation of conditions for sustainable income and long-term employment.

How does the project differ from the state program for supporting displaced persons?

Armenia already has a state program for issuing certificates to refugees from Artsakh. However, this is not enough to buy and build a new home due to the high cost and scarcity of land. Our project complements it by offering ready-made land plots with infrastructure, allowing more families to find a home and stability faster.

What guarantees do families have?

Families are officially granted ownership of the plots with long-term obligations — to use the land only for residence and economic activities.

Why is this project important?

•      Creates sustainable communities where families can support each other and preserve the traditions of Artsakh.

•      Stimulates agriculture and the local economy.

•      Gives families a foundation for peace, security, and prosperity.

•      Provides children with a stable future and access to better education.
