6 days agoSupport for our campaign is important, as it will contribute to the creative freedom of the theater and the strengthening of its creative potential. Thanks to our joint efforts, we will create high-quality performances. In connection with the 45th anniversary of the theater, a book will be created for the first time about the entire history of the theater, which will summarize the history of the theater, as well as a documentary film will be shot, which will contribute to the transfer of cultural values to present and future generations.
The history of the Abovyan Theater begins in 1980, when the Palace of Culture was built. In 1986, the theater was given the name "People's Theater". In the 1990s, the theater's activities became passive, but the theater did not stop operating. It has been about eight years since a new stage in the theater's development began. In 2018, the Abovyan Theater building was transferred to the "Abovyan Dramatic Theater" cultural non-profit foundation by memorandum. The theater has no permanent employees, no financial flows, the only means are financial flows generated from the sale of performances or projects implemented thanks to various grants.
Actors are invited for each performance, and this or that performance is created with joint efforts. During this period, we have created a number of performances on our own ("The Tailless Fox", "The End of Evil", "EMERGENCY, 911, I'm Listening to You", "The Dog and the Cat", "Ward No. 6", "Little Red Riding Hood", "The Universe is Our Home", "Treasure Island", "The Most Beautiful Day of the Year", "He and I"),
We have participated in international theater festival in Armmono, as well as in the city of Alaverdi, the annual theater festivals in Abovyan, the "Белая вежа" international festival in Brest, Belarus, and the "Fadjr" international festivals in Iran.
In 2019, the play "The Tailless Fox" won the "Artavazd" award as the best children's play of the year.
The theater's mission is to enhance the role and significance of theater in the city of Abovyan, to make the city more lively and interesting, and to promote audience attendance at the theater in its city.
In recent years, regional theaters have gained a very important role and significance, as they have developed their cities with their active activities, helping the residents of a given settlement to provide their entertainment in their native city. However, unlike the capital Yerevan, regional theaters are more vulnerable, as they face major financial problems.
The theater cannot develop without appropriate resources. The main problem with fundraising is that the theater does not have major sources of funding, which hinders the implementation of programs that are important for the development, continuity and expansion of the city's theater.
Funding is necessary so that the theater can implement new creative educational and cultural projects.. If new projects and performances are not implemented, the theater may lose its audience, thus reducing the impact of cultural activities on the city and the region.
Performances generally raise people's cultural awareness, spark innovative ideas, and promote social communication. The performances will enable people to think deeply, respond, and emotionally connect with the stage, contributing to personal and social development. Likewise, the development of theater has a great impact on the city in which it is located, turning it into a cultural center where art connects the community, which in turn improves the urban aesthetic environment and ensures social cohesion.
The publication of a book about the theater will stimulate people's interest in culture and art, contributing to their deeper recognition. It will be a valuable source that will not only enhance the history and development of the theater, but also relate to traditions and innovations, turning it into an educational tool that helps a wider audience connect with the theater and the values created within it.
The filming of a documentary film about the history and path of the theater will bring people together, introducing them to important moments in the past and development of the theater. This film will increase The public's interest in theater will be enhanced, its social and cultural significance will be presented, and it will promote the formation of national self-awareness, providing an opportunity for more people to sympathize with the values and traditions of theater.
NEW PERFORMANCES, NEW BREATH. Thanks to this fundraising, the comedy "The Servant of Two Masters" and the musical "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" will be presented to the audience. Performances that will breathe new life into the theater.
LET'S PRESERVE OUR HISTORY By creating a documentary film and a book, we will reveal the past path and cultural heritage of the theater to present and future generations.
With your support, this history will become not only the history of the theater, but also the history of the entire city and culture.
