a month agoFounded by the Tufenkian Foundation in 2002, F&C is committed to supporting the most vulnerable children and families across Armenia. Through our five key centres in Northern Armenia — Metsamor, Armavir, Ijevan, Noyemberyan, and Artik—we provide comprehensive services that touch over 550 lives each year. Our dedicated teams offer social work support, psychological services, and speech therapy to address immediate and long-term needs, empowering families to overcome challenges and build brighter futures.
We also run educational and cultural programs that nurture creativity and personal growth, including art, music, and theatre activities. Legal counselling and specialised training programmes equip children and parents with essential knowledge and skills to navigate life's complexities. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty and create a nurturing environment where every child can realise their full potential.
Take Anahit’s story. At just eight years old, she was living in extreme poverty, often alone, with no toys and little hope. Her academic performance was poor, and she had no friends to confide in. However, through our Arts and Crafts Therapy Program, Anahit found a safe space to express herself through drawing and singing. Over time, she not only improved her skills but also transformed her life. Today, she is integrated into her community, has friends, and is recognised for her artistic talents. Your support made this transformation possible.
From Struggles to Strength: How You Can Change a Life
Consider Vardan and Gagik, two boys who were once involved in a street gang, often getting into trouble and facing the risk of expulsion from school. Referred to our program by the local police, these boys needed a new direction. Through puppet theatre and drawing classes, they discovered their talents and began envisioning a different future. Today, they are no longer involved in criminal activities and have become positive role models for other children in their community. This transformation was made possible because someone like you chose to help.
Building Bridges of Hope in Armenia’s Most Vulnerable Communities
Operating across Armenia, we serve hundreds of children each year, offering them the tools they need to thrive. Our approach is holistic and deeply rooted in the belief that every child deserves a chance to flourish. We combine social work, psychological support, and cultural education to address the complex challenges these children face. Our programs are designed to foster creativity, build self-confidence, and promote social inclusion, ensuring that every child we work with has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Join us in making a difference. Your donation, no matter the size, will help provide essential services and create opportunities for children to heal, grow, and thrive. Together, we can build a future where every child has the chance to dream, make, and succeed.
Together, we’re creating a world where every child can unlock their full potential. And with the Tufenkian Foundation matching all donations, your impact will go even further. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.

Renowned Artist Arman Nur Inspires Children at Metsamor Centre of Family and Community NGO
The Family and Community NGO’s Metsamor Centre buzzed with excitement as celebrated Armenian artist Arman Nur visited to share his insights on creativity, culture, and the transformative power of art. Known for his innovative work and deep connection to his Armenian heritage, Nur’s visit was an inspiring and enriching experience for the vulnerable children supported by the NGO, many of whom have been displaced from Artsakh.
A Talk That Sparked Inspiration
During his visit, Arman Nur didn’t just talk about art—he spoke to the children about the richness of Armenian history, language, and culture. He shared how these elements influence his own artistic journey, encouraging the children to embrace their heritage as a source of inspiration
Nur’s message resonated deeply with the children as he explained how creativity can be a powerful tool for storytelling and expressing emotions. He emphasised that Armenian traditions, language, and history are not only a personal inheritance, but also a wellspring that can guide them in their personal and creative lives.
"Armenian culture is incredibly rich and deep, and it’s something that each of you carries within you," he told the children. "By understanding and embracing our history and language, you can create art that not only expresses who you are, but also keeps our traditions alive for future generations."
Empowering Through Creativity and Culture
Nur encouraged the children to see art as an outlet to express both their personal experiences and cultural identity. He highlighted the importance of preserving Armenian traditions through creative expression— whether in painting, sculpture, music, or writing— reminding the children that their heritage is a powerful resource.
"Art isn’t just about making something beautiful," Nur explained. "It’s about communicating who we are, where we come from, and where we’re going. Your creativity can be a way to honour your ancestors while also shaping your future."
This message was particularly impactful for the children at the Family & Community NGO, who participate in the Arts & Crafts Therapy Program. This program uses creative activities to help children cope with the trauma of displacement, poverty and other difficult circumstances. Nur’s visit reinforced how cultural pride and artistic expression go hand-in-hand, offering a meaningful way to process emotions while connecting to their roots.
Celebrating Armenian Heritage
Throughout his talk, Nur also highlighted the strength and resilience of the Armenian people, pointing to the endurance of the Armenian language and culture through centuries of hardship. His words gave the children a sense of pride and acted as a reminder that they are part of something much larger.
The children were deeply engaged throughout the talk, many were inspired to explore their heritage further and express it through their own creative work. By the end of the visit, it was clear that Nur’s message had sparked a new appreciation for the richness of Armenian culture.
A Lasting Impact
Arman Nur’s visit left a profound impact on the children and staff at the Metsamor Centre. His ability to connect creativity with Armenian culture provided a new lens through which the children could view their own artistic potential. Many of the children walked away feeling inspired, not only to create, but also to explore their heritage more deeply.
The event was part of the Family & Community NGO’s broader effort to provide enriching experiences for the children they support, helping them build confidence, resilience, and pride in who they are. By bringing prominent figures like Arman Nur to share their knowledge and experiences, the NGO continues to offer these children hope, expanding opportunities for growth and learning beyond the classroom.
Raising Awareness for the Arts & Crafts Therapy Program
Nur’s visit also helped raise awareness for the Family & Community NGO’s ongoing fundraising campaign. These funds are essential for ensuring that programs like this continue to provide vital mental health and creative support to vulnerable children. The Tufenkian Foundation is generously matching all donations— meaning every contribution will have double the impact.

On a vibrant and unforgettable day, the renowned Armenian tar player Miqayel Voskanyan visited the Family & Community NGO’s Metsamor Centre, leaving a profound impact on over 550 children, including many who have been displaced from Artsakh. Known for his extraordinary talent and commitment to preserving Armenian musical heritage, Miqayel’s visit was more than a performance—it was an experience of learning, inspiration, and cultural pride.
A Journey Through Armenian Musical Heritage
Miqayel Voskanyan shared the rich history and intricate techniques of the tar, an ancient Armenian string instrument, captivating the young audience with his passion and expertise. His storytelling not only brought the instrument's cultural significance to life but also instilled a sense of pride and curiosity in the children.
