SHORT SUMMARY

The "Dizak Art" initiative is a vital cultural project dedicated to preserving Artsakh's rich cultural heritage through targeted educational programs. By engaging displaced youth and teenagers in cultural activities, the program creates meaningful connections to their ancestral roots and traditions.

This engagement serves a dual purpose: facilitating emotional healing from displacement trauma while reinforcing their cultural identity and sense of national identity. Beyond individual impact, Dizak Art ensures the living transmission of Artsakh's cultural traditions to future generations, preventing the loss of invaluable heritage.

IMPACT

The "Dizak Art" initiative creates a transformative and sustainable impact for displaced youth by equipping them with the creative means to reclaim their cultural heritage and rebuild their emotional resilience. In its first year, we aim to engage over 500 young individuals, teaching them various art forms such as painting, song, dance, and theater.

The program will help preserve Artsakh’s cultural heritage and offer youth the opportunity to heal emotionally, form a sense of belonging, and foster community resilience. It will create a lasting connection between displaced communities and their roots.

PROBLEM

The cultural heritage of Artsakh faces a significant threat due to the ongoing conflict and forced displacement. Families have been torn apart, and many young people have been displaced from their homes. Without urgent action, Artsakh's unique traditions, arts, and cultural practices risk being lost forever. Additionally, displaced youth face not only emotional trauma but also cultural isolation, which further separates them from their heritage. This crisis demands immediate action to preserve their identity and cultural continuity.

SOLUTION

To counter these challenges, the "Dizak Art" program offers a comprehensive approach to arts education and cultural preservation. The program will provide displaced youth with education in painting, music, dance, and theater, fostering both cultural recovery and personal growth.

Implementation Stages:

  • January–June: Educational Process

Individual and group lessons in various art forms, hands-on workshops, and performances will allow youth to engage deeply with the arts and their cultural heritage.

  • July–August: Educational-Cultural Camp

A summer camp will offer a safe space for learning and recreation, facilitating emotional recovery and community bonding.

  • September–December: Continuing Education

The program will continue to develop skills through structured lessons and performances, ensuring long-term impact.

Resources and Methods:

  • Experienced Instructors: Displaced artists and specialists who bring expertise in the culture and traditions of Artsakh will lead the program.
  • Facilities: The program will be conducted in the "Dizak Art" branches in Yerevan and Abovyan, which will be fully equipped for arts education.
  • Funding: The program will be funded through a mix of government grants, private donations, and international partnerships to ensure financial sustainability.
