We are talented and creative schoolchildren of Atan village, Lori region. In our village, the only educational center is school. We love to read, but our school has a poor library with a very small number of books.

The lack of books and library hinders proper education and self-education of schoolchildren and youth in our village. Opening a reading room will solve this problem.

Atan village is one of the remote villages in Lori region. Remoteness from the regional center (63 km from Vanadzor) and the capital (167 km from Yerevan) creates difficulties for self-education of the youth of the village.

There is no library in the village, and the lack of public transport creates barriers to using libraries in the city. There are frequent power outages and poor Internet access in the village, so it is also almost impossible to fully use e-books and libraries in our village.

SOLUTION

We, students of the Atan Basic School, have created a project to solve this problem. The best way to fill the gaps in reading is to open a reading room at school. It is planned to renovate one of the classrooms, furnish it and turn it into a reading room. To implement our project, it is necessary to purchase furniture for the reading room (bookcase, tables, chairs) and books (on history, marketing, business, tourism, etc.).

In the reading room we will read, discuss and analyze. We will also have seminars for locals. The goal of the project is to instill love for books and reading from an early age.
