Look at Maria’s bright smile: she looks cheerful, but behind it is the difficult battle of a 9-year-old girl.

At an age when her days should be filled with playground games, Maria’s world is defined by hospital walls and medical machines. The past year has been especially painful for her: while fighting a severe kidney disease, she lost her mother to the same illness. 

Today, Maria’s life depends on hemodialysis. It keeps her alive, but it does not give her a proper childhood. Maria needs a kidney transplant so she can grow, dream, and simply be a child. Sadly, there is no suitable donor for her in Armenia and none of her relatives are compatible.

But there is hope: a clinic in Minsk is ready to accept Maria and perform the life-saving surgery. The only barrier is financial. The surgery and medical care cost approximately 32,200,000 AMD, with an additional 2,300,000 AMD needed for related expenses. The total amount - 34,500,000 AMD - is far beyond what her family can afford.
