2 years agoAside from the difficult living conditions, they also have limited access to electricity, but OUR ACTIONS CAN CHANGE THE SITUATION.
By supporting the project, we can solve the issue of free electricity in Kert, Spitakashen, Berdashen, Chartar, and Martuni.
Energy consumption is a serious social burden not only for the people in Artsakh, but also for the government, local authorities, and business entities.
Five schools in the Martuni region are facing the same problem. Photovoltaic power stations should be installed on the roofs of school buildings.
With the implementation of the project, schools and related public buildings will have FREE AND PERMANENT ELECTRICITY.
Lack of electricity and bad weather conditions do not stop students.
They volunteer to help with the school's wood-cutting activities in order to continue their classes in heated classrooms.
Lack of electricity and bad weather conditions do not stop children.
Besides studying in difficult conditions, the children also volunteer to help operate the school boiler. By the way, the use of wood has serious negative effects on the environment.
We can change the reality so that students won't have to be involved in such activities, to which they are now unable to remain indifferent.
During the war, the settlements of the Martuni region were bombed several times a day. As a result, the energy infrastructure of Martuni was destroyed.
Although the war ended two years ago, power outages still occur even today, and the issue has not been resolved.
Among the five schools in Martuni region are:
The Martuni Youth Center was established to bring the youth of Martuni together.
The Equal Opportunities NGO was founded in 2020. The organization's mission is to promote socioeconomic, educational, cultural, and public life in the Martuni region's communities. The founders are sure that equal possibilities will be created for everyone throughout Artsakh.
Viun is a project and campaign management agency engaged in the promotion and distribution of the "Solar schools in Artsakh" project.
GS Energy built 17 solar power plants with a total capacity of 180 kW, installed 35 water heaters, and performed a lot of power supply work.
It is planned to install on-grid systems in four of the schools. These systems don’t need batteries as they work in combination with the electrical network.
In one of the schools, it is planned to install a hybrid solar inverter, which is a full version of "on-grid" and "off-grid" systems. In contrast to a grid inverter, an "off-grid" solar inverter is not connected to the electrical grid and operates independently. It will ensure energy independence in the given school and village.
Photovoltaic power stations will produce more than 93 thousand kilowatts of energy each year.
Find the project budget here.
The goal of the "Solar Artsakh" project is to supply solar energy to Artsakh communities and produce and consume solar energy. This will help to achieve energy independence in Artsakh and solve various community problems.
"Solar Schools in Artsakh” is the second project implemented within the framework of this program. Check out the first project here.
Dear supporter of the ‘Solar Schools in Artsakh' project,
While it's true that our attempts to heat Martuni schools with solar plants didn't achieve the desired outcome, the contributions made to the project will continue to bring warmth to the hearts of Martuni residents.
The Equal Opportunities NGO, which initiated this project, is using the raised funds to address the urgent needs of Martuni's forcibly displaced residents. Naturally, being accountable to all the supporters.
Thanks for being that caring.
Around 1 million, can you imagine, 1 million drams were collected on the occasion of scientist Hrant Khachatryan's birthday to install solar power stations on the roofs of 5 schools in the Martuni region of Artsakh, and give children the OPPORTUNITY OF UNINTERRUPTED EDUCATION.
Our decision is to give the only reward of the project, i.e. artist Susanna Harutyunyan's bright painting to Hrant Khachatryan for making such an important contribution.
🎉 We have good news in these tough times.
Yesterday, we collected the funds for the first school. Soon, the first solar station will be installed in the school of Kert village.
😞 Children's education is under threat again, and all gas-heated schools in Artsakh stop functioning. BUT ‼
Installing solar plants will provide energy independence, free electricity, and heating for schools and surrounding areas.
Please continue supporting children. Donate to schools in 📌Spitakashen, 📌Berdashen, 📌Chartar, and 📌Martuni.
