AN INNOVATIVE SOLUTION FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF BONE INJURIES

No animal or human could survive a broken bone in the past unless it was healed. The broken thigh, which has healed, testifies that someone took care of him, bandaged the wound, moved him to a safe place, fed and protected him. This is the start of a civilized person.

Caring is the first sign of the beginning of civilization, and the most important component is to find ways to heal injuries.

The issue of health restoration for certain illnesses is still key and urgent today. Among these issues are injuries to the musculoskeletal system: aging population, bone cancer, accidents, birth defects. These are the causes that can lead to bone defects and injuries.

Fortunately, the bone problems that were considered incurable by everyone in the past are solvable today.

Nowadays, there are various approaches to rehabilitation and treatment, including bone grafting, in which a bone is transplanted from another part of a patient's body.

But in order to heal one injury, it is necessary to damage another, healthy part. In this case, a double operation is performed, with all the accompanying risks and postoperative adverse effects. Unfortunately, 10-20% of these interventions end in failure. Metal implants are considered to be effective, but being a foreign element in the body, they are accompanied by negative consequences.

Yes, the solution is already there - an implant that is made of biocompatible, bioactive, biodegradable material that promotes bone growth, and over time dissolves and disappears, helping to restore the natural bone. This Material is called Biocer.

Biocer can:

2.  Promote bone growth by directing the growing bone to the damaged area.
3. Within a few months, as the bone grows, it dissolves in the body leaving no negative effects,

OUR TEAM AND ACHIEVEMENTS

We conducted research in specialized laboratories in Spain and Estonia for over 8 years, then

conducted preliminary clinical research on animals in Brazil.

As a result, we have developed a unique bioactive and biodegradable material - BioCer. BioCer implants were subjected to in vitro testing. The best specimens were also tested on rabbits and sheep.

As a result of long-term development, it is possible today from the BioCer to;

1. Prepare bioactive, biodegradable adapted implants.
2. Adjust the size of the implant to fit the injured area to the nearest millimeter;
3. Adjust the porosity of the implant, which determines the growth of bone and the speed of recovery and stimulate bone growth.

Human bone tissue has a piezoelectric property, i.e. it generates electric current during mechanical loading. This current stimulates the formation and growth of bone cells. Due to this, when a person leads an active lifestyle, he has stronger and stronger bones, otherwise, the bones dissolve and shrink.

The BioCer, in addition to containing components that stimulate bone growth, has a piezoelectric property, that is, it generates an electric current from mechanical loading, just like natural bone. This promotes bone growth in the same way that healthy bones are treated in a natural way.

4. By adjusting the composition ratio of BioCer Material, it is possible to change the decay rate of BioCer by adapting it to the nominal growth rate of the patient's bone.

PURPOSE OF THE RESEARCH

Despite the already proven excellent results and biocompatibility and bioactivity, BioCer should undergo further clinical trials. Within the framework of the program, we plan to use BioCer implants to repair bone defects in injured animals, such as dogs and cats.

As a result, it is possible to help suffering animals, at the same time to obtain valuable results, which will once again confirm the exceptional safety of the Biosphere. Thanks to this avantgarde research, we will make a crucial step forward in rehabilitation medicine.

The ultimate joy at the end of the project is to be able to use BioCer material to repair human injuries. As a result, we can restore the bone defects of many injured and physically disabled people, return them to a normal life without a life full of pain and sorrow.
